For those wishing to extend their stay on Friday afternoon, we have proposed a post-conference excursion to Mont Saint-Michel. We’ve just learned that it can’t take place because the site will host the Olympic torch relay. Another excursion is planned near Saint-Malo.
ONLY 21 SEATS AVAILABLE! First arrived, first served.
Friday May 31st:
- 1:30 pm: Departure from the Palais du Grand Large by coach for the Malouinière de la Ville Bague.
An integral part of Saint-Malo’s history, the malouinières are unique.
By visiting an authentic 18th-century privateer’s and shipowner’s house, you’ll discover a peaceful place just a few kilometers from Saint-Malo, built to escape the city for a moment of rest. You’ll be able to admire the park with its formal garden, visit the chapel and dovecote, as well as the interior of the malouinière with its period furniture and privateer weapons collections. (1h30 tour in English).
- Then from 4pm to 5:30pm: discovery of an oyster farm in the Bay of Cancale.
Situated in a magnificent setting, you’ll spend 1 hour exploring the oyster-farming environment: the world of the sea’s gardeners, through a 1-hour guided tour. A documentary will also introduce you to the hard work of oyster farmers in the oyster beds.
The history and breeding of this delicious mollusc will no longer hold any secrets for you!
The guided tour concludes with a tasting of oysters and flat oysters, accompanied by white wine of course!
Return to Saint-Malo by 6:00 pm.
The price per person is €60. If you are still interested in extending your stay in Saint-Malo with this excursion, please contact us as soon as possible.
(Please note that no individual visits to Mont Saint-Michel will be possible on this Friday.)
